Album tracks from 80s new wave group Þeyr (pronouned "they" with a rolled "r" on the end). This group was active in the Icelandic scene between 1979-1983 and were known for their fierce sound, occult mystique and pranksterish humour, challenging the zeitgeist with ambivalent genius. Some have made reference to Killing Joke (who they supported) and Joy Division (who they immitated in their early works) but this group was more highly original, and as most believe, should have had worldwide exposure. They remind me more of The Beatles in their 1967 Sgt. Pepper period, having that secret musical/studio style they could call their own. For more information.....

Apologies for this torrent not having 100% of their stuff, but it is still quite concise if you know the band's discography. It is everything except Iður til Fóta and Mjötviður Mær, because I can't burn the former to Hardrive, and the latter I only have in vinyl, but if people want these then I'll try my best in future days to seed a second part; but most of the tracks on those appear on the given records anyway.

Thanks and PLEASE SEED since these records are rare esoterica, otherwise they will not be heard, nor influence anyone (the masters were burnt in a fire so they will never be issued on CD !!).

Please check my other torrents for other rare music. Tah Dah.

Cool. I love this band. Very different. I know you said it was a pain, but perhaps could you somehow get the other ones ripped down somehow? Just in case there is even a single song I have missed by this band. Also, do you have any of the stuff by Vonbrigdi? I like them alot too. Thanks!
Didn't they also do the soundtrack for a movie? I'll bet that was good too:) Also, someone seed...please...
Yeah, its within this torrent. Brennunjalsaga is a ten-minute track like the Beatles "Revolution no.9", it was played over this surreal short-film. Nothing really theatrical though. They really developed with their last three records.

I'll see what I can do about the other stuff.....
P.S. I have another torrent of Peyr demos with Jaz Colemon on lead vocals, it goes well with this one. Check it out.
Cool. I have heard the Jazz/peyr tracks before. They are o.k, but I much prefer the stuff theyr did on their own, and that which kj did on their own. Two great bands. Too bad they didn't collaborate more. Thanks for the torrent. Hopefully you will find the way to put the rest on here someday. Be well... and perhaps you may also reseed the Vilto bijor? I like Fraebbblarnir. I also wondered since you are on abit of an icelandic thing, if you have the cd that vonbrgidi put out in '94 of their materials-some old-some new. Thanks for the good torrents..
Tah. I'll re-seed Fraebbblarnir soon. I don't have the Vonbrigdi stuff, but there are some nice blokes on you*tube who I think have.

Just send a polite message to either abraxas80, eltiposabe or JJSandel, they have just about everything.

I also recommend Baraflokkurinn as one of the best...thinking of putting their best-of CD up here also.
Baraflokkurinn, that sounds really cool. What I have always wanted to hear was the icelandic band 'Jonee Jonee'. They put out two lps, but I've yet to find hide nor hair of them. The one or two tracks I heard from them were really choice. But, if you have this ' Baraflokkurinn', it would be nice to hear them:) There is a certain style to these Icelandic bands that is really something else...
Hi, the files are coming up as wma, anyway to convert them? Or could you try uploading them as mp3's please?? Great great torrent, I neeeeed this! Thanks!
